This policy applies to RetailCareerIQ web app and iOS mobile app.
What We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when using RetailCareerIQ:
- Account information — name and email address when you register
- Interview responses — the text answers you type during mock interview sessions
- Session data — your chosen role, industry, scores, and session history so you can track progress
- Coaching bookings — name, email, and scheduling details if you book a live coaching session
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number
We do not collect any sensitive personal data such as government IDs, health information, or precise location.
How We Use Your Information
- To run your mock interview sessions and generate instant feedback scores
- To remember which questions you've already been asked so they don't repeat
- To deliver and coordinate live coaching sessions you've booked
- To send you session results and booking confirmations by email
- To improve the question bank and automated scoring over time
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Automated Scoring
Your interview answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude to generate a score and feedback. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and enterprise data agreements. Your answers are used only to generate your score — they are not used to train automated models without your consent.

Data Storage
Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit's infrastructure in the United States. We retain your session history and account information for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days.
Cookies & Analytics
We use only functional session cookies required to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
We do not currently use any third-party analytics services.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your session history

Age Requirement
RetailCareerIQ is intended for users 18 years of age and older. By using this app you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
